As one of the sweetest of the citrus fruits, Mandarin is a favorite among children for it’s candy-like aroma. It is used for relieving upset tummies and calming restless children including hyperactive kids. This is a reason it is a key ingredient in our Happy Kids formula. It has sedative properties, is stress relieving and calming. The digestive properties calm tummy complaints, aid in the breakdown of fats and production of bile and can be used both internally and topically as a massage oil for this effect. The healing properties of Mandarin help improve skin elasticity making it a great addition to a massage oil for dry skin, stretch marks and scars and it is also used in facial care to regulate the production of oil. Mandarin also makes a great addition to PMS blends for its emotionally calming effect.
We love it for the sweetness it brings to a blend, particular those that are too earthy or woody and need some balance or holiday scents mixed with cinnamon and clove to produce the sweet and spicy aroma we find when the oven is baking.
